Claudius Brock, a patron of culture, opens the doors of his house every two months for the sake of art.

This time the composer Sebastian Lomé has the opportunity to present his sonata for pianotroppoforte and string quintet to a small but elegant circle of culturally interested people. The music critic Tigran Grodek, who is supposed to ease the composer’s path into the feuilletons, is also invited, as are the factory-owning Mr. and Mrs. Homonov, who occasionally support artists on a generous scale. After the concert, everyone sits together to talk. Unfortunately, the debate is not particularly musical, and the enthusiasm for Lomé's work is limited.
