Fairies and elves? Aren't they those pointy-eared creatures of light who flit through the air with their glittering wings and bring people luck? But young fairy Le can tell you a thing or two about how mean and annoying they can be. Especially bad is the vain fairy Emelie, who makes fun of the fact that Le has neither pointed ears nor wings. Yet Le would so much like to be like the others. Why is the elf kingdom so alien to her, even though she was lovingly brought up there by Papa Fee? To find out, she goes on an adventure with her best friend Dragon. Because it is high time to become the heroine of her own story before sadness darkens her heart.

Tear is a little sad. Suddenly she is here, and she does not know who shed her. Not like Mr. Dew, who sits so pretty on his blade of grass. It’s not surprising, Mr. Dew is a good sort of dampness, since he comes from flowers. Tear, on the other hand, comes from sadness and therefore has a terribly bad conscience. That is why she wants to find the man who shed her. So Tear goes on a journey. In order to keep up her spirits, she sings and swings, raps and hip-hops her songs along the way. On her journey, Tear meets different people. But no one claims the sad tear as their own. And then there is also this annoying light which constantly tries to destroy tears through its warmth. With the help of the clown, she manages to get rid of the light, and finally, Tear finds a new companion: the little Mr. Teardrop.

“I’m La. I laugh when I see Ma. We march to the beat of our own drum. When I grow up, I want to be like her and listen to sad music during the day. Music that has a little bit of beauty in it. Ma says that’s what it’s about. This little bit of beauty that makes the day a good one.”

A poetic representation of the inner world of a girl with Down syndrome. La catches stars, which she needs to live, when her mother enters the room or when voices tell her wonderful stories that no-one else can hear. But eventually there is so much anger that not even the stars can help.
