In the home “Silver fir”, the brown mob rests. Frail and senile, they indulge in their memories and reminisce about the past under Hitler. Wörns, leading member of the right-wing followers and director of the home, fosters important ideologies. But Bruton and Eigenrauch, the investors, have something else in mind. Lived-in property displaces the cultivation of political views. Wörns doesn’t want to leave without a fight and raises the army of his seniors. Nurse Mirko is dear to the old people, but loves young flesh himself. His chosen one is Caro, the daughter of the enemy Bruton. A critical thinker. Susann, 24, is wavering in her political views from right to left, turning in circles. But she finally serves Bruton. The showdown is a meeting in the home; they eat roast veal and potato gratin: a festive meal. Mirko ends the tensions, his victims are Bruton and the silver fir. Bombed in the war by a strong will. But in the ruins, life continues.

In his play Deutsche Oper, the author has captured a piece of brown-German present time. Artfully, he composes language and content into an impressive opus and mixes the finest ironical subtexts into the dark tightrope walk between nationalism and capitalism.
