Die Lügen der Papageien
1 D, 2 H
UA: 04.11.1995 · Schauspielhaus Bochum (Kammerspiele) · Directed by: Leander Haußmann
The author has written the title role onto the body of the actor: A piece of shit in the piece A Piece of Shit. "This is like Hamlet in Hamlet", the theater authorities try to persuade the performer. The actor has two children, but no fixed contract – so he plays the role. The director is filled with the desire to do important things, but is at the very beginning of her career – so she directs the piece. The author, sickening and frustrated, shamelessly gluts himself on the misery of his victims. Cruel, brutal and funny: Die Lügen der Papageien tells the tragedy of those employed in artistic professions.

Local names, incidental details and the names of the persons acting are changed for each performance and adapted to the individual circumstances. The play was written in 1994 and was performed in Chennai, Corcaigh and Sibiu, but never in Stuttgart.
