Three people, Gina, Tom and Alain, have followed a mysterious invitation. One after another, they arrive at a non-specific location. They don’t know each other. They know neither why they are there nor what awaits them.
Tom is an actor, he is carrying a book with him: Dostoyevsky’s Demons. The three begin to act. They play different roles, re-enact scenes, improvise. The question of why they are there becomes irrelevant. Like in his other plays, Bauersima questions the meaning of our existence. And if there is none, how is man supposed to find happiness?
“TOM: ... Man is unhappy, because he doesn’t know he is happy, only because of that. That’s all, all! He who realises that becomes happy immediately. It suddenly occurred to me.”
