Handbuch gegen den Krieg

War is the most stable model of how history was made and therefore the most stable institution in our cultures. This self-evidence in history makes war appear as an inevitable prerequisite for human coexistence. War, however, is always made by people. At any moment in history, interventions by people could have prevented war. And indeed they have. Only. We only ever learn about the war-makers and never about those processes and measures that served peace. We know nothing about peace. We do not hear about peace. We do not learn about peace. War is the only reported event in our understanding of history. And that includes economic history, which only reports on the overpowering of people by what is called economic development.
