Time check. It's 12:38 p.m. Today it is here: the "Black Day". At 03:34 today, a fireball will slam into the earth, and the world will end, says Ommi. But why "black day" when it happens in the middle of the night? And why does no one but Ommi know about it? Eddie asks himself. He stares up at the sky, but it's just drizzling. At 8 years old, he is already a real explorer. In his explorer book, he writes down everything he knows about the world and the universe. His neighbor Mr. Taniwa, a former ornithologist and dry alcoholic, taught him a lot. Also what an ornithologist is. Together, the two go on excursions on the 23 floors of their high-rise building. On the 13th floor, Eddie lives with his mom, his baby half-brother Pupsbert and Mario, mom's new mack. Unfortunately, there's been a lot of loud banging going on in the living room lately. Mario-kack-ins-Klo, as Eddie secretly calls him, regularly beats up Mama and him. Luckily, Eddie is good at lying and then tells the doctor that he fell off the swing. Afterwards, he gets an ice cream from Mama. That way he can stand it quite well. Today, baby Pubsbert also comes back from the hospital with a black eye. Now Eddie is going to call the number Mr. Taniwa picked out for him and get help.

It is heartbreaking with what childlike naiveté Eddie describes the ills of his family as his normality. How inquisitively he goes through life trying to explain the world to himself.
This play also shows the importance of outsiders who do not look the other way when they notice domestic violence, but show those affected where they can get help.
