UA: 25.8.2011 · Schauspiel Frankfurt, Bockenheimer Depot · Directed by: Bernhard Mikeska
Ten years ago, she became a celebrated star overnight, thanks to the puzzling, legendary film Je t’aime. Today, at the peak of her fame, she is celebrating her 50th birthday, surrounded by those most near and dear to her: her husband, friends, colleagues. Imagine how it would be to be a guest at this birthday party. It’s a warm summer evening, drinks are passed around, an intoxicating celebration begins. But just beneath the dazzling surface, something isn’t quite right. Deceit, humiliation, and the desire for death break into the reality of this dream. And if an attractive young actress should happen to also have her birthday today—is that only a strange coincidence? What riddle is hidden in the script of the film? Who is guilty of the tragic death of the woman whose fate is depicted by Je t’aime? The longer the evening lasts, the more strongly the borders between reality and fiction blur—and between past and present, life and death. (Announcement Schauspiel Frankfurt)
