Jessica, 30.
2 D, oder mehrere D
UA: 20.10.2005 · Schauspielhaus Graz · Directed by: Dieter Boyer
Jessica Somner, 30, is good-looking. She’s young and intelligent. Jessica does everything that’s expected from the generation Golf Two. She only needs a job and love, and everything will be fine. But suddenly, her friends don’t provide solidarity anymore, and sex with the politician isn’t at all hot anymore. Jessica’s efforts to fit in weren’t enough. Jessica doesn’t participate any longer and decides on an opposing strategy. She makes the intrigues of the powerful public and privatises her body. She is insistent on her dignity, and love gets a chance.
Veronika Halden, 56, is good-looking. She is energetic, intelligent, a Latin professor. She doesn’t always support her daughter’s actions, but trusts in her judgement. And what is a mother allowed to say? When does she have to watch silently? How many of her own experiences is she allowed to confess to her daughter?
But while the younger one has to deal with the beauty obsession of her age, the older one can use her maturity and display her critical power.
Two women, two generations, one origin: Marlene Streeruwitz has created a fascinating juxtaposition of mother and daughter in this dramatic sequel of her protagonist’s breathless stream of consciousness from Jessica, 30, showcasing their differences and similarities, their weaknesses and strengths, their fears and hopes. Two strong monologues for at least two strong actresses.
