“It’s about selling balloons, paternal warnings, the terror of German essays, the excesses of a small family and the New Year’s address of the previous year; the megalomania between mammals; if you understand it like this – a retrospective, a glimpse backward, turned backwards, turning your back to the future you’re dashing between space and time and are constantly increasing the past that’s sprawling before you.” (Marcus Braun)

“It’s important to keep in mind that the symbolic order of culture and family is essentially based on language. Even when learning a language, the individuum is exposed to the insinuations of a cultural community. Together with the words he adopts the moral values, with the sentences a specific way to order the world symbolically. For lack of alternatives, this order then seems completely natural to him. As subjects of speech, the individuum and his surroundings are objectified as signs for something that doesn’t conform with them anymore. Especially in the abstract discourse of ideologists and system philosophers, custodians of meaning and chaperons, cataloguing and designations take the place of tangible experiences: the motivation for these masters of language is adhering to the rules and not each specific course of life, which they see only as exceptions.” (Matthias Bauer about Marcus Braun)
