Marschlande
für die Bühne bearbeitet
UA: 21.9.2025 · Thalia Theater Hamburg · Directed by: Jorinde Dröse
They had long dreamed of it as a family: the move from their Hamburg city flat to the vastness of the marshlands was supposed to mark the beginning of a new chapter in their lives. While Philipp immerses himself in the new daily life, Britta increasingly feels out of place—lost in the silence, cut off from herself. Then she comes across the name Abelke Bleken. Almost 500 years separate her from the woman who stood up against storm floods as well as against the jealousy of the village community—and became the focus of deadly accusations. As Britta follows in her footsteps, the past and present intertwine into a web of dependence and freedom, slander and resistance. What happens when an ancient story reaches into one’s own life? And how much of Abelke is there in Britta herself?
