Actually, they chose this hotel because they wanted to spend a nice evening there. But then they are trapped. A flood surrounds the house. And there are no other human souls, anywhere. Two men and two women. Two couples. Four relationships. The danger lurks in waiting. They could kill each other. There are apparently reasons for this. The wife of one is the lover of the other. Or maybe not? Loss and delusion. A complicated entanglement of a relationship. Hermetically sealed. No rescue far and wide. Was there a knock? How long does the waiting last? Weeks or months? And is this state of existence even real at all?

Alexander Müller-Elmau describes a state of limbo at night. Isolated from external influences, but at the same time adequately equipped with drinking water and food, these four people are forced to wait together. Their perceptions shift, their needs drift apart. Only the place remains. They still have hope, at least as far as salvation from the floods is concerned.
