February 1943: during a leaflet campaign against the Nazi dictatorship, young student Sophie Scholl and her brother are arrested in the university of Munich. The days of Gestapo interrogation develop into mental duels between the resistance fighter and her interrogator, Robert Mohr. At first, Sophie fights for her and her brother’s freedom, then she confesses to protect the other members of the “White Rose” and doesn’t renounce her convictions, even if that could save her life…
“Great work by Breinersdorfer.” (Tages-Anzeiger)
“Sophie Scholl – The Final Days is based on the script by Fred Breinersdorfer, the screenwriter of the successful movie of the same name. It contains beautifully telling scenes, for example when conspirator Willi Graf chickens out or when the fictional character of old Sophie Scholl sings the reflection song – song from childhood days at the very end.” (Salzburg 24)
