You have a thousand opportunities, but have you got a chance? Ada is the envy of everyone. She’s good looking, comes from a wealthy family, has travelled widely and has a smart, successful father who has already given her a villa and a yacht. Ada is seventeen, and the flood of professional opportunities overwhelms her. She identifies increasingly with her best friend Iris, who has been hunting for a job for a long time, to no avail. The solution for both of them appears on the horizon as an apprenticeship in her father’s company. When Ada faces her father in a job interview, he rejects her because of a mistake in the application form and her world falls apart. Exercising her property rights, she kicks her father out onto the streets. The girls try to create their own world in Ada’s luxurious villa. Between its four walls, they go on a journey of discovery with like-minded people. The father, who has sympathy for the young people, makes an about-face. Who is steering the ship? A play about disengagement, orientation, and how relative luck is.
