Matthias Beltz

Matthias Beltz, born in 1945, lived in Fankfurt am Main since 1966. Together with Dieter Thomas he founded “Karl Napp’s Chaos Theatre”; after the former’s dissolution, they founded the “Preliminary Frankfurt Front Theatre” (Vorläufige Frankfurter Fronttheater) together with Hendrike von Sydow. In 1986, 1988 and 1990, he created programmes with Heinrich Pachl; 1988 opening of the variety venue “Tigerpalast”. Since 1989, solo performances. In the early Nineties he began working in television. 1993 he received the Adolf-Grimme Gold Award and the German Cabaret Award (Deutscher Kleinkunstpreis). Matthias Beltz died in 2002.
