(c) Rappl Rinus Silzle worked as an assistant director for film and theatre projects at the Academy of Performing Arts in Baden-Württemberg before studying dramatic writing at the Berlin University of the Arts. His plays have been invited to festivals such as the Essen writers' festival ‘Stück auf!’, the Rhineland-Palatinate Festival of Theatre and the Heidelberg Stückemarkt, where his comedy
Legal Highs won the audience award. For the play
Die Suche nach Saga (The Search for Saga), he received the Berlin Children's Theatre Award, organised by the Grips Theater, after which he wrote the commissioned work
Stecker ziehen! (Pull the Plug!), which premiered there in 2021. With
Space Explorers he was nominated for the Retzhofer Drama Prize in 2023. Rinus Silzle lives and works in Munich, where he is part of the management team of the Münchner Theatertexter*innen, organising workshops and productions in the independent theatre scene.
