A group of men, women and children: they are all sitting in the train at 8:54 as it leaves the station. Without knowing that this will be the last time they ever go on a train. Because at 8:55, the train will blow up. How can the inconceivable be described? Or does only the describable happen in the minutes beforehand? When everything was still good and, while perhaps not easy, it was still possible. When the people in the train still had goals. Maybe they had been listening to their favourite song. And what was going on with the waitress Sally in the station café, who had been listening to “Bette Davis Eyes” on the radio? She let the cup drop from her hand in fright when she saw the explosion outside, right in front of her eyes. Was there really nobody nearby that could have saved the cup in time?
