Fiston Mwanza Mujila

Fiston Mwanza Mujila, who lives in Graz, Austria, looks at the colonial origin story of the Austrian Alpine cosmos and, in a grotesque fiction, explores the question of what might happen in the post-alpine age: Glacier melt and après-ski never again? Or what happens when raw materials are suddenly discovered underground in the Alps? Will they then be turned into a big mining company and the West will mine for the Global South?

Après les Alpes was commissioned by the Volkstheater Wien and will be premiered as a continuation of Elfriede Jelinek's In den Alpen as a double bill at the Volkstheater Wien.
