Those condemned to speechlessness, above all Hermi, a battered hermaphrodite, regain their right to exist by speaking, by raising their voices. It is an operation on the open heart of a society whose structural power, whose brutal dictate of standardisation accepts perverse excesses, hides others, locks them away, makes them invisible. However, this eloquent collection of texts is not a bitter indictment, but a frivolous and ironic combat training, subversive mental gymnastics for the unafflicted, the non-existent among us. The "universal villager" falls by the wayside.
