Ein Stück Männerfraß

UA: 15.12.1995 · Pfalztheater Kaiserslautern · Directed by: Peter Gruber
Marlene, a farmer’s daughter, smothered and abused by her father, longs for a way out of the rural narrowness. To find herself, she sets out for the city, where she finds phenotypes of the male world, painter Dix, Stones-fan Otto, city-magazine-publisher Frick and actor Brandauer. They all claim to have an interest in her, to even love her, but all make her into their creature, force her into their own world, make her an image in their dream. And Marlene plays along. But only to a certain extent – in the moment of greatest intimacy, she kills the men and eats them. Even the overpowering father becomes a victim of this hunger for revenge and destruction. Even though her disgust of the male bodies grows, the woman is never full. Until King Franz finally appears and demands that she should love the ones she devours and voluntarily plunges himself onto her knife. Onto the “knife of love”.
