Und es war Sommer
Die 70er Schlagerette
Auftragsarbeit für die Gandersheimer Domfestspiele

UA: 25.06.2009 · Gandersheimer Domfestspiele · Directed by: Christian Doll
The journey continues: after the economic miracle of the 50s (Petticoat und Minirock) and the awakening of the 60s (Komm, gib mir deine Hand), with irresistible logic we arrive in the colourful 70s. Abba and Ahoi-sherbert, Boney M. and the Bonanza-wheel, Costa Cordalis and Capri Sun, Deep Purple and Disco-feeling, ELP and syrup-filled refreshment chocolates, Freddy Mercury and wanted posters – you could find a 70s keyword for every letter of the alphabet.
The decade is rich in idols, fashions and trends, political heights and depths. Principles were displayed with various badges and the march through the institutions began and was successful. But at the same time, more than one political utopia didn’t survive the decade. Lifestyle and the right look were at least as important as political opinions. And partying was everywhere, not least in the expanding discos.
The 70s: a rich, colourful decade, with a soundtrack of disco, rock, blues, schlager, funk, soft-rock and glam-rock. The new revue, written especially for the Gandersheimer Domfestspiele again, revives facets of this decade.
