Johann Jakob Wurster

Johann Jakob Wurster war born in Hamburg in 1962. He studied acting at the UDK (formerly HDK) Berlin and subsequently became an actor at the Theater des Westens Berlin, the Landesbühne Esslingen and the Staatstheater Braunschweig. For years, he toured the country with the dialect cabaret formation “Schwabenoffensive” which he co-founded in 1987.
In 1995, he introduced improvisational theatre in Berlin and started Theatersport Berlin with like-minded people. Wurster also works as a director for the Staatstheater Cottbus, state radio SWR Stuttgart, Think Theatre, Theater Strahl Berlin and Musiktheater Atze, Berlin. In 1997 he won the C.F.D.Grabbe Award for Fitzfinger, ab geht er!. The play received more than twenty productions in the German language countries, in Italy and Australia.
