Michael Stauffer

Michael Stauffer was born in Winterthur in 1970. After attending school in Frauenfeld, he went to Bern University to study German, French and Fine Arts. He taught German at a vocational school. Since 1999, he has worked as a freelance author. Member of the Swiss Authors’ Association. With his text I promise when the sun comes up, I promise I’ll be true he won first prize at the 7th Open Mike in Berlin in 1999. Scholarship for the Akademie Schloss Solitude in Stuttgart in 2001. In the same year, he took part in the MC6 Masterclass under the direction of Marlene Streeruwitz. Diese Farbe ist nicht mehr erhältlich was written during the Authors’ Workshop Dramenprozessor 2001/01 and was premiered at the Theater an der Winkelwiese in Zurich in January 2002. In 2003, the Theater Bern premiered his play Die Apfelkönigin. Stauffer lives in Switzerland and in Europe.
