Whilst the Chancellor of the Reich strides through his residence and looks at the borders of his realm from the balcony, his wife Jutta bakes a traditional German apple pie for his sustenance. Because the Chancellor has a lot to do, from morning till evening he is busy governing the German Reich in its borders of 1871. This requires a lot of patience, because the world outside of his living room unforunately adheres to the laws of the “Federal Republic of Germany Pty Ltd.”. When the tax inspector Frau Semmerling gains access to the autonomous realm unannouncedly and the neighbour’s dog shits right at the border again, we are talking of nothing less than a state crisis.
With an absurd humour and subtly drawn dialogues, Björn SC Deigner observes the phenomenon of the Reichsbürger movement and its almost paranoid tendency towards social separation which at the slightest confrontation with the reality around it seems to come up against insurmountable boundaries. And he questions the historical echo space in which the Reichsbürger movement originates.
