"The brothers are coming!" says the old mother to her husband. And the brothers - the sons, Karl and Franz, bring a hunger with them, and the desire to seize their heritage, now, before the time is up. Because time is so long! And so they come as robbers, thieves in the night, and wait for the money man to come. Because tomorrow is payday.

The economy, the domestic law of the present, knows only one commandment: "Get rich!", and so it is morning, evening, tomorrow, and on and on into the future. But when this house passes away, and its law is no more, the heritage that remains is barren. Then there is only the struggle for money, the last few coins, quickly, before they fall back to the dust from which they arose. And this battle for inheritance does not separate the brothers. Instead, it cuts like a knife between the old and the young, the parents and their children.

Rude and humorous, at the same time most affectionate and almost lyrical, this piece tells the story of a world which has nothing to hold it back from its own demise, except for the utopia of the ultimate enrichment - immortality! And the desperate rebellion of those who see their last chance only in annihilation.
