He is a thorn in the side for Hans from the state authority, and it makes the steely-eyed Jenny uncomfortable to see the village idyll tarnished. Adi disrupts structures. And Karina, the new young woman in the butter factory, still feels at ease by his side, too. Between the dairy, the pub and the den, those who defy the normalised space of village society are observed and punished. They have to go. They have to be wiped out. So that they stop dreaming that one day a giant fist of butter will stretch up to heaven.
