The Iliad is one of the oldest and wildest stories in the world. The story of the war for Troy is endlessly fascinating. Briseis and Spourgitis are enemies. They have to be enemies. Because their parents are enemies. Because their cities are at war with each other. They both realise immediately that they are enemies. It couldn't be any other way. Two children meet in the Trojan horse. The war that could be any war is raging around them. But in here it is completely silent. As if they were the last two people in the world. And they are watched by Hermes, the messenger of the gods, who has his very own opinion of war. In Henner Kallmeyer's adaptation of the ancient myth, the focus is not on murder and manslaughter, but on love, forgiveness, friendship and sacrifice.
