Ewe Benbenek

Ewe Benbenek studied cultural and political studies at the European University Viadrina in Frankfurt (Oder) and at University College London, as well as literature at the University of Erfurt. From 2014 to 2019 she was a research assistant to the School of Modern German Literature/Theatre Research at the University of Hamburg. In 2019, she was nominated for the Retzhofer Drama Prize. Her theatre text Tragödienbastard was funded by uniT and the Vienna Schauspielhaus as part of the work studio and premiered on October 30, 2020 at the Vienna Schauspielhaus.

In 2021, she won the Mühlheim Drama Prize for Tragödienbastard and in the same year was voted Young Author of the Year in the Theater heute critics' survey.
