© Julia GrevenkampThomas Perle, born in socialist Romania in 1987, grew up trilingually in Nuremberg, studied theatre, film and media studies at the University of Vienna and graduated with a diploma. During his studies he worked at the Volkstheater in Vienna and as assistant director at the Schauspielhaus Wien. Several projects were developed within the framework of the Wiener Wortstaetten.
He lives and works as a freelance author and dramatist in Vienna. He has received several awards for his prose and drama, including the Retzhofer Dramapreis 2019. In 2018, his prose volume wir gingen weil alle gingen. was published by edition exil.
In 2023, he won the Nestroy Author's Prize for karpatenflecken.
